On the Red River basin rivers, the water levels of the Thao River, Lo River and downstream of the Red River will all decrease.

The short-term Hydrometeorological Forecast and Warning bulletin issued at 10:30 am on August 9 by the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting said:

With the Thao River, the water level at Yen Bai station (Lao Cai province), Phu Tho station is decreasing and is forecast to continue to decrease.

Monitoring data at Yen Bai station at 7:00 am on August 9 was at 27.78m, at the same time at Phu Tho station at 13.93m.

With the Lo River, the water level at Tuyen Quang station, Vu Quang station (Phu Tho) changes slowly and is affected by the upstream hydropower regulation.

Monitoring data at Tuyen Quang station at 7:00 a.m. on August 9 was at 16.77m, at the same time at Vu Quang station at 10.00m.

It is forecasted that the water level at Tuyen Quang station and Vu Quang station will change in a gradually decreasing trend due to the Tuyen Quang hydropower reservoir closing 1 bottom discharge gate at 8:00 AM on August 9, 2026.

With the Da River, the flow to Hoa Binh reservoir is and will continue to fluctuate according to the above-level hydropower regulation.

At 7:00 AM on August 9th, the water level of Hoa Binh Lake was at 38.64m.

With the Red River, the water level downstream of the Red River at the Hanoi Hydrological Station is changing slowly.

At 7:00 AM on August 9, the water level at Hanoi station was at 5.43m.

It is forecasted that the water level of the Red River at Hanoi station will gradually decrease (Tuyen Quang Lake closed 1 bottom discharge gate at 8 am on August 9, Hoa Binh Lake still maintained opening 1 bottom discharge gate).
