According to reservoir operation data, at 12:00 on July 16, in the Northwest area, Hoa Binh Hydropower reservoir had an upstream water level of 103.71 m, 13.29 m lower than the normal water level (117 m). The water flow to the reservoir reached 3,904 m3/s, while the total discharge flow reached 4,403 m3/s, including 1,542 m3/s through the spillway and 2,861 m3/s through the plant. Currently, the reservoir maintains 1 deep discharge gate.
Son La Hydropower Lake recorded a water level of 196.24 m, 18.76 m lower than the normal water level (215 m). Water inflow to the lake reached 3,966 m3/s, total discharge volume 3,275 m3/s.
Lai Chau Lake has a water level of 280.72 m, 14.28 m lower than the normal water level (295 m). Inflow to the lake is 1,647 m3/s, total discharge is 1,490 m3/s.
Notably, Huoi Quang Lake has a water level of 368.8 m, only 1.2 m lower than the normal water level (370 m), which is the lake with the water level closest to the normal water level in the group of large lakes in the North.
Meanwhile, Ban Chat reservoir reached 461.15 m, 13.85 m lower than the normal water level (475 m), water inflow to the reservoir reached 2,435 m3/s, but the total discharge amount was only 152 m3/s.
In the Northeast area, Tuyen Quang Hydropower reservoir has a water level of 103.9 m, 16.1 m lower than the normal water level (120 m). The inflow to the reservoir reached 746 m3/s, almost equivalent to the total discharge volume of 742.66 m3/s.
Thac Ba Lake recorded a water level of 52.07 m, 5.93 m lower than the normal water level (58 m). Water flow to the lake reached 530 m3/s, total discharge volume 298.55 m3/s, all through the plant.
According to the forecast of the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, on July 16, the Northern region will have showers and thunderstorms in some places, especially mountainous and midland areas will have scattered showers and thunderstorms, with locally heavy rain.
Rain time is concentrated in the late afternoon, night and early morning. The delta area has intermittent sunshine during the day with the highest temperature around 32 - 34 degrees Celsius.
The Central region will be sunny during the day, with hot sun in some places with the highest temperature around 32 - 35 degrees Celsius.
The Southern region has showers and thunderstorms in some places; especially in the afternoon and evening there are scattered showers and thunderstorms, locally heavy rain in some places.
