Large hydropower reservoirs in the Northern region continue to maintain below normal water levels, and the reservoirs are operating safely, ensuring power generation requirements.

According to data from Vietnam Electricity Group, at 2:00 PM on July 3rd, the water level of large hydropower reservoirs in the Northern region continued to be lower than the normal water level. The water flow to reservoirs on the Da River system remained high, but the reservoirs still operated safely, mainly discharging through power plants. Tuyen Quang reservoir continued to discharge through spillways.

Hoa Binh Lake recorded the largest water inflow in the area with 3,433m3/s. The lake water level reached 101.99m, about 15m lower than the normal water level of 117m. The total discharged water reached 2,931m3/s, all through the plant.

Son La Lake has a water inflow of 2,496m3/s and a total discharge through the plant of 3,215m3/s. The lake water level is at a height of 194.69m, about 20.3m lower than the normal water level of 215m.

At Lai Chau Lake, the water inflow to the lake reached 1,497m3/s, while the total water discharge through the plant was 1,587m3/s. The lake water level reached 287.82m, about 7.2m lower than the normal water level.

Tuyen Quang Lake has a water level of 109.24m, nearly 11m lower than the normal water level of 120m. The water flow to the lake reaches 1,226m3/s. The lake is discharging a total of 1,222.75m3/s, of which 529m3/s is through the spillway and 693.75m3/s through the plant, while maintaining the opening of 1 deep discharge gate.

Meanwhile, Ban Chat Lake has a water level of 454.08m, about 20.9m lower than the normal water level, the water inflow to the lake reaches 122m3/s. Huoi Quang Lake reaches an elevation of 368.6m, only about 1.4m lower than the normal water level, the water inflow to the lake reaches 181m3/s.

Thac Ba Lake has a water level of 50.81m, about 7.2m lower than the normal water level of 58m. The water flow to the lake reached 485m3/s and has not been discharged.

According to the forecast of the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, on July 3rd, the Northern region tonight and tomorrow will have scattered showers and thunderstorms, with locally heavy rain. From tomorrow night, the Northeast region and Thanh Hoa will have moderate rain, heavy rain and thunderstorms, with locally very heavy rain.

The Southern region has showers and thunderstorms in some places; in the afternoon and night there is moderate rain and scattered thunderstorms, locally heavy to very heavy rain.
