The water level at most large hydropower reservoirs across the country is lower than the normal water level, and many reservoirs are still quite far from the designed water storage threshold.

According to data from Vietnam Electricity Group, at 3:00 PM on June 19, in the Northwest region, Lai Chau Lake reached an altitude of 289.18m, 5.82m lower than the normal water level.

Son La Lake is at 195.64m, 19.36m lower; Hoa Binh Lake reaches 98.91m, 18.09m lower. Meanwhile, Ban Chat Lake reaches 448.83m and Huoi Quang Lake reaches 368.34m, both lower than the normal water level.

In the Northeast region, Tuyen Quang Lake recorded a water level of 98.01m, nearly 22m lower than the normal water level of 120m.

In the North Central region, Trung Son Lake reached 151.94m, only nearly 2m higher than the dead water level. Ban Ve Lake is at 174.02m, nearly 26m lower than the normal water level. Khe Bo Lake reached 64.61m, approaching the normal water level threshold of 65m.

In the South Central Coast, A Vuong Lake reached 359.6m, 20.4m lower than the normal water level. Song Tranh 2 Lake is at 157.74m, 17m lower. Song Ba Ha, Song Hinh, Song Bung 2 and Song Bung 4 reservoirs all maintain water levels below the design threshold.

The Central Highlands region recorded Pleikrông reservoir reaching 545.19m, Ialy reservoir reaching 496.02m, Đồng Nai 4 reservoir reaching 474.54m and Đại Ninh reservoir reaching 867.33m. Most of the reservoirs are lower than the normal water level from a few meters to dozens of meters.

In the Southeast region, Tri An Lake reached a water level of 54.07m, nearly 8m lower than the normal water level of 62m.

According to the forecast of the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, on June 19, the mountainous and midland areas of the Northern region will have showers and scattered thunderstorms, with locally heavy to very heavy rain. The Northern Delta will be hot during the day, with intense heat in some places.

The area from Thanh Hoa to Da Nang city and the east of provinces from Quang Ngai to Dak Lak will have hot and intense heat with the highest temperature commonly 36-38 degrees C, in some places above 38 degrees C.

The Southern region will be sunny during the day, with hot sun in some places; showers and scattered thunderstorms in the afternoon and evening, with locally heavy rain in some places.
