The water level of hydropower reservoirs in the Northern region is maintained at a low to medium level, the reservoirs mainly operate regulated power generation, not yet overflowing.

According to data from Vietnam Electricity Group, at 9:00 am on May 4, in the Northeast region, Tuyen Quang Lake had an upstream water level of 110.47m, 120m lower than the normal water level. The water flow to the lake is about 50 m3/s and no discharge has occurred.

The Northwest region continues to be a place with large power generation activities on the Da River system. Lai Chau Lake reached a water level of 293.99m, water inflow to the lake 313 m3/s, not yet discharged. Ban Chat Lake has a water level of 433.9m, water inflow to 69 m3/s, not yet generated discharge.

Huo Huoi Quang Lake recorded a water level of 369.97m, currently generating electricity with a discharge flow of 31 m3/s.

Son La Lake reached a water level of 205.5m, water inflow to the lake 472 m3/s and is generating electricity with a total discharge flow of 1,583 m3/s through the plant.

Hoa Binh Lake has a water level of 108.73m, water inflow to the lake 208 m3/s, generating electricity with a discharge rate of 731 m3/s. Thac Ba Lake also generates electricity with a discharge rate of 70.26 m3/s.

According to the forecast of the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, on May 4, the weather in the North will maintain a cloudy state, with moderate rain at night, in some places heavy to very heavy rain with thunderstorms, scattered rain during the day, cool weather with a common temperature of 19-29 degrees C; Hanoi alone fluctuates around 20-29 degrees C.

The Central region from Thanh Hoa to Hue has scattered showers and thunderstorms at night and in the morning, sunny days, temperatures around 27-30 degrees C; the South Central Coast region is sunny, in some places above 33 degrees C, local thunderstorms in the evening. The Central Highlands is sunny during the day, showers and thunderstorms in some places in the evening, highest temperature 31-34 degrees C.

The weather in the South continues to be sunny during the day, with scattered showers and thunderstorms in the late afternoon and evening, the common temperature is 32-35 degrees Celsius; in Ho Chi Minh City about 32-34 degrees Celsius. During thunderstorms, areas are likely to experience tornadoes, lightning and strong gusts of wind.
