According to data from Vietnam Electricity Group, at 9:00 am on May 3, in the Northeast region, Tuyen Quang Lake had an upstream water level of 110.4m, nearly 10m lower than the normal water level. The water flow to the lake reached 100m3/s, no water discharge has occurred.
In the Northwest, large reservoirs continue to generate electricity with moderate flow. Lai Chau Lake reached 293.41m, with a flow rate of 108m3/s; Ban Chat Lake reached 433.37m, with a flow rate of 209m3/s; Huoi Quang Lake was at 369.9m, approaching the normal water level.
Notably, Son La Lake has a water level of 205.67m, lower than the normal water level by more than 9m, and is generating electricity with a total discharge flow of 508m3/s.
Hoa Binh Lake reached 108.79m, lower than the normal water level by more than 8m; inflow to the lake reached 1,232m3/s, total discharge through the plant 430m3/s. Thac Ba Lake maintains a water level of 51.65m and has not been discharged.
In the North Central region, Trung Son Lake operates electricity generation with a total discharge flow of 84m3/s. Ban Ve Lake has a flow rate of 44m3/s, not yet discharged. Khe Bo Lake, although the flow rate is only 1.3m3/s, is generating electricity with a total discharge rate of 167.9m3/s. Quang Tri Lake has not generated water discharge.
The South Central Coast region recorded low water flow to the reservoir. A Vuong, Song Bung 2, and Song Bung 4 reservoirs have not been discharged. Vinh Son A reservoir generates electricity with a flow rate of 7.1m3/s; Song Ba Ha reservoir discharges 120m3/s; Song Hinh reservoir discharges 19.03m3/s.
In the Central Highlands, many reservoirs are generating electricity at an average level such as Thuong Kon Tum discharging 26.52m3/s; Pleikrông discharging 119m3/s; Ialy discharging 113m3/s; Se San 4 discharging 200m3/s. Some other reservoirs have not yet generated water discharge.
In the Southeast region, Tri An Lake has a water level of 58.1m, nearly 4m lower than the normal water level, the inflow reaches 170m3/s and has not been discharged.
According to the forecast of the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, on May 3rd, the Northern region and Thanh Hoa will have rain, moderate rain and scattered thunderstorms, with locally heavy to very heavy rain.
From the afternoon of May 3rd, the area from Nghe An to Hue City will have scattered showers and thunderstorms, with locally heavy rain.
The Southern region will be hot during the day; in the late afternoon there will be scattered showers and thunderstorms in some places.
