According to data from Vietnam Electricity Group, at 10:00 AM on May 2nd, in the Northern region, the terraced lakes on the Da River are still the main power source.
Son La Hydropower Lake recorded an upstream water level at an elevation of 205.85 m, lower than the normal water level by 215 m. The water flow to the lake reached 252 m3/s, the total discharge through the plant was at 1,026 m3/s.
Hoa Binh Hydropower Lake is at an elevation of 108.78 m, lower than the normal water level by 117 m; water flow to the lake is 651 m3/s, total discharge through the plant is 644 m3/s.
Lai Chau, Ban Chat, Huoi Quang and Thac Ba reservoirs have not yet generated discharge, and the water level is still below the normal level.
In the Northeast region, Tuyen Quang reservoir reached 110.29 m, 120 m lower than the normal water level, and no discharge regulation has been recorded.
The North Central region recorded some reservoirs increasing power generation. Trung Son Lake discharged 84 m3/s, Ban Ve Lake discharged 47 m3/s. Khe Bo Lake discharged 227.2 m3/s through the plant - the largest discharge level in the region. Quang Tri Lake has not yet generated discharge.
In the South Central Coast, most reservoirs have low water flow. A Vuong, Song Bung 2, Song Bung 4 and Song Tranh 2 reservoirs have not discharged. Vinh Son A discharges 2.67 m3/s; Song Hinh discharges 19.03 m3/s; Ba Ha River maintains discharge of 120 m3/s according to the latest data.
In the Central Highlands region, many lakes are operating to generate electricity with stable flow. Pleikrong discharged 119 m³/s, Se San 4 discharged 160 m³/s, Thuong Kon Tum discharged 26.52 m³/s, Buon Kuop discharged 15.42 m³/s.
Some reservoirs opened spillway gates with small flow rates such as An Khe and Srepok 3. Meanwhile, Ialy Hydropower reservoir has not generated discharge even though the water flow to the reservoir reached 148 m3/s.
In the Southeast region, Tri An Hydropower Reservoir has a water level of 58.09 m, a water inflow rate of 140 m3/s and has not been discharged.
According to the forecast of the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, on May 2nd, the Northern region will have showers and thunderstorms in some places, sunny skies in the afternoon; especially the Lai Chau, Dien Bien, and Lao Cai areas will have scattered showers and thunderstorms in the morning, with locally heavy rain.
