On October 29, according to the report of the People's Committee of Dong Nai province on traffic connection between Dong Nai province and Ho Chi Minh City, for the project to extend the Ben Thanh - Suoi Tien metro line to the current Provincial Administrative Center and Long Thanh airport, the People's Committee of Dong Nai province has assigned investors to prepare project proposal documents. Accordingly, the province strives to complete procedures to complete the selection of investors in 2026 and start construction in 2027.
The project has a basic route following the plan, starting from S0 station in Tan Van, the route follows the planned route, crosses Dong Nai river and goes along National Highway 1, connecting to SC station of the new administrative center. Then, the route follows the planned corridor of the Bien Hoa - Long Thanh railway line, along DT 771, cutting through the Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh expressway, connecting to SA station and then following the planned corridor for railway lines entering Long Thanh airport.

The project has a total length of about 41.4km, including 3 main sections: Section 1 from S0 station to the central administrative station (SC), about 6.1km long; Section 2 from the central administrative station (SC) to SA station (to the Thu Thiem - Long Thanh railway line), about 28.2km long; Section 3 (section to the airport) is about 7.1km long (new route and goes parallel to the Thu Thiem - Long Thanh metro line, the North-South high-speed railway).
The project has a total preliminary investment of about VND 60,261.8 billion (of which the cost of site clearance is about VND 4,323.2 billion), with implementation period from 2025-2029.
On September 9, the People's Committee of Dong Nai province worked with the investor consortium of DonaCoop Infrastructure Investment Joint Stock Company and VinaCapital Group on the progress of investment preparation documents for the project to extend the Ben Thanh - Suoi Tien metro line to Tran Bien, Long Thanh airport and develop the TOD urban model.
