On the morning of June 19, Mr. Tran Duc Them - Chairman of Phuc Tho Lam Ha Commune People's Committee (Lam Dong) - said that the locality is coordinating with Dinh Trang Thuong commune and rescue forces of Lam Dong province to deploy search and rescue work for 3 people missing on the Dong Nai River.

The location of the incident is in the Da Dang 1 bridge area, bordering Phuc Tho Lam Ha commune and Dinh Trang Thuong commune, downstream of Dong Nai 2 Hydropower reservoir.
According to initial information, on the afternoon of June 18, a group of 4 people came to swim in the above area and were unfortunately swept away by water. Local people promptly rescued 1 person and brought them ashore safely.
The three remaining missing victims include Mr. Doan Manh Tai (37 years old), nephew Doan Manh Nguyen (16 years old, Mr. Tai's son), residing in Phuc Tho Lam Ha commune, and nephew Doan Van Kim Phat (14 years old, residing in Tan Ha Lam Ha commune).

Mr. Pham Ngoc Hau - Chairman of Dinh Trang Thuong Commune People's Committee - said: Immediately after receiving the news, the local government mobilized police and military forces to coordinate in the search.
However, the area where the incident occurred has deep, fast-flowing water, so rescue work is facing many difficulties.

By this morning, the Fire and Rescue Police Department of Lam Dong Provincial Police had mobilized nearly 20 officers and soldiers along with many specialized vehicles and equipment belonging to Teams Area 2, Area 17 and Area 18 to participate in the search on the Dong Nai River.
As of 10 am on the same day, more than 100 people from functional forces and people are still urgently searching for the victims but there are no results yet.
Lao Dong Newspaper will continue to update information on the case.
