On the morning of May 25, Thanh Hoa Hydrometeorological Station said that yesterday (May 24), the area of Thanh Hoa province experienced hot and intense heat, especially intense in some places. The highest air temperature is commonly from 36.0 - 38.5 degrees C, especially at Tinh Gia meteorological station, the highest level was recorded at 39.8 degrees C; the relative lowest humidity ranged from 45 - 50%.
Due to the influence of the hot low pressure area in the West that is developing and expanding to the Southeast, on May 25 and 26, the Thanh Hoa area will continue to experience hot sun, intense heat, especially intense in some places with the highest air temperature from 36 - 38 degrees C, in some places above 39 degrees C; relatively low humidity from 40 - 50%.
Affected areas include coastal plains such as: Yen Dinh, Ha Trung, Bim Son, Nga Son, Hau Loc, Hoang Hoa, Thieu Hoa, Nong Cong, Nghi Son, Quang Chinh, Hac Thanh, Sam Son; and midland and mountainous areas such as: Muong Lat, Quan Son, Hoi Xuan, Thiet Ong, Cam Thuy, Kim Tan, Vinh Loc, Linh Son, Ngoc Lac, Thuong Xuan, Tho Xuan, Nhu Xuan, Nhu Thanh, Trieu Son. This heat wave is expected to last until the end of May 28.
Functional agencies warn that the level of natural disaster risk due to hot weather is level 1. Due to the impact of intense heat combined with reduced air humidity, high temperatures can cause many negative impacts on people's health and lives.
Specifically, there is a high risk of phenomena such as heatstroke, heat shock, dehydration; increased heart disease, blood pressure, respiratory diseases, especially for the elderly, young children and people who have to work outdoors; causing fatigue, reduced working ability and concentration.
In addition, increased electricity demand also poses a risk of system overload and electrical equipment explosion. The risk of fires in residential areas and forest fires is also pushed to a high level. This harsh weather also adversely affects agricultural production, making livestock susceptible to heat shock and reduced productivity.
Functional agencies recommend that people should limit going outdoors if not really necessary during peak hours from 12:00 to 16:00. Need to drink enough water, supplement electrolytes and equip themselves with sunscreen clothing when going out.
People should absolutely not work overtime in the sun, and at the same time need to proactively arrange reasonable working time. Use electricity safely and economically, regularly check electrical equipment to prevent fires and explosions, and proactively implement fire prevention and fighting measures, especially in forest areas and residential areas.
