After merging the entire area and population of Binh Duong and Ba Ria - Vung Tau provinces, Ho Chi Minh City officially became a super city with more than 6,722 km2 of area and a population of over 14 million people. This is not only an expansion of administrative boundaries but also a strategic turning point, connecting the strengths of industry, seaports, finance and tourism, shaping a leading dynamic economic center in the region.

The center of Ho Chi Minh City will not develop alone but will be closely linked with Thu Thiem - a new urban area oriented to become an international financial center. Here, many iconic works such as the Financial Center, square, theater, high-end hotels, creative park... are gradually taking shape, bringing the appearance of a modern and integrated city.

Key port clusters and warehouses such as Truong Tho, Cat Lai, Hiep Phuoc, Tan Cang... are always bustling with operations, playing an important logistics unit for the Southern region and the whole country, transporting goods to serve the domestic and international supply chains.

In the North, the old Binh Duong region has now become an important industrial park of Ho Chi Minh City, prominent with large industrial parks such as VSIP, Song Than, My Phuoc, which attract millions of workers and FDI capital.

To the Southeast, the old Ba Ria - Vung Tau brings special advantages such as long coastline, temperate climate, deep-water seaport system and developed tourism infrastructure.

In particular, Cai Mep - Thi Vai international port cluster is playing an important role in the global logistics chain, and is also a center for oil and gas industry, renewable energy and marine tourism.

To enhance regional connectivity, a series of key infrastructure projects are being invested in such as the Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay Expressway, Bien Hoa - Vung Tau, Ho Chi Minh City - Moc Bai, Thu Dau Mot - Chon Thanh Expressway. The construction of the expanded Ring Roads 3, 4 and National Highway 13 is also being accelerated.

In particular, the metro network in the future will be a pillar of sustainable urban connectivity. Metro Line 1 (Ben Thanh - Suoi Tien) has been completed and has become an outstanding public transport vehicle. Currently, the old Ho Chi Minh City - Binh Duong Metro line is being studied with a length of 32.4 km.

With a multi-center structure, abundant potential and increasingly complete infrastructure, Ho Chi Minh City after the merger is gradually shaping the role of a model super-urban that strongly integrates and leads the development of the entire Southern region.
