The railway industry implements many ticket price reduction programs in September 2026, with the highest reduction of 40% for sleeper berths on some routes. Passengers who buy round-trip tickets and book tickets early also enjoy additional incentives.
Up to 40% discount on sleeper ticket prices
From September 7-10, 2026, the railway industry will apply a ticket price reduction program on some trains running through the Central region.
Accordingly, train codes SE2, SE4, SE6, SE8, SE10 and SE20 reduce 15% of soft seat ticket prices and 30% of sleeper ticket prices for routes with departure stations from Da Nang to Cho Sy, arrival stations from Hue to Hanoi.
Train codes SE1, SE2, SE3, SE4, SE21 and SE22 on the Da Nang - Dieu Tri and vice versa routes are reduced by 15% of soft seat ticket prices and 40% of sleeper ticket prices.
After applying the incentives, the sleeper ticket price for the Da Nang - Hanoi route is from 800,000 VND/ticket; Hue - Vinh from 376,000 VND/ticket and Vinh - Hanoi from 370,000 VND/ticket.
For soft seats, the ticket price for the Da Nang - Dong Hoi route is from 181,000 VND/ticket.
Specific prices may vary depending on the train, type of seat and when passengers buy tickets.
Buy round-trip tickets with a discount of up to 30%
In addition to direct discounts on some trains, the railway industry is implementing a preferential program for passengers buying round-trip tickets.
The program is applied in two phases: from September 7 to the end of November 19, 2026 and from November 25 to the end of December 30, 2026.
For individual passengers, return tickets are reduced by 20% if purchased 1-19 days before the train departs. In case of purchase of tickets 20 days or more in advance, the reduction is 30%.
Group passengers are additionally reduced 20-30% of the return ticket price after applying the current group discount policy.
If passengers are eligible for many preferential policies, the ticket sales system will apply the highest discount for return tickets, not adding up the discount levels.
The policy of discounts according to ticket purchase time helps passengers proactively plan their travel, while supporting the railway industry in allocating seats and regulating demand on each train.
Where do passengers buy tickets?
Passengers can buy tickets at stations, official ticket agents or the online ticketing system of the railway industry.
Electronic payment methods, e-wallets and banking applications are integrated, creating convenience for passengers in the process of buying and paying tickets.
The railway industry said that ticket price policies are flexibly adjusted according to travel needs and actual operational conditions. Price reduction programs will be announced on official channels for passengers to proactively update.
With reductions of 15-40% on some types of seats and preferential round-trip ticket policies, passengers have more options to save costs when traveling by rail, especially on medium and long journeys.
