On the morning of June 2, in addition to traffic diversion and regulation, units under the Traffic Police Department (CSGT) - Hanoi City Police also focused on strictly handling violations that are the main causes of traffic accidents.
On Ho Tung Mau Street (Mai Dich, Cau Giay), from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 a.m. on June 2, the working group of Road Traffic Police Team No. 6 discovered and punished 15 violations, such as driving in the wrong direction, driving on the sidewalk, not wearing a helmet... There were cases of vehicle temporary detention.
For example, Mr. N.V.T (born in 2004, residing in Me Linh, Hanoi) was driving a motorbike on the sidewalk of Ho Tung Mau Street when he was discovered by the working group of Road Traffic Police Team No. 6. Presenting to the authorities, Mr. V.T said that because he was in a hurry, he went onto the sidewalk to get through the traffic jam.
Mr. N.V.T also violated a series of other violations, including not having a driver's license, not having a vehicle registration, and not having a rearview mirror. For the crime of riding a motorbike on the sidewalk alone, Mr. N.V.T was fined from 4 to 6 million VND.



At the same time, the working group of Road Traffic Police Team No. 3 also discovered and handled 6 cases of going in the wrong direction from Pham Ngoc Thach Street to Nguyen Ngoc Doan (Dong Da District).
When stopped by the authorities for inspection, most of the violators gave the excuse of being afraid to go around or not paying attention to the prohibition signs.
In the area of Hang Khoai Street (Hoan Kiem District), Road Traffic Police Team No. 1 also focused on handling motorbike drivers going in the wrong direction. From 7am to 8:30am, the working group handled 23 violations.
According to the latest statistics from the Hanoi Traffic Police Department, from May 15 to now, the city's traffic police force has handled 8,542 cases of violations of Road Traffic Order and Safety. Temporarily detained 2,182 vehicles; revoked 535 driving licenses; deducted points from 1,289 driving licenses.
Of which, 250 cases were for running red lights; 217 cases were for going in the wrong direction; and 69 cases were for transporting bulky goods.


Notably, from May 26, the Hanoi Traffic Police Department will deploy a plan to strengthen the handling of violations through professional equipment. After nearly 1 week of implementation, 204 violations were detected and handled through the camera system.
In the coming time, the Hanoi Traffic Police force will continue to synchronously deploy solutions, focusing on strictly handling violations to maintain traffic order and safety and build a civilized traffic culture in the capital.
