gratitude through specific actions
During the historic April months, gratitude activities in President Ho Chi Minh's hometown were organized synchronously and extensively, spreading the spirit of gratitude throughout society.
On this major occasion, leaders of Nghe An province directly visited and encouraged Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, seriously wounded soldiers, sick soldiers and martyrs' relatives.
Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Duc Trung and the working delegation visited the Nghe An War Invalids Nursing Center, visited its health, listened to the thoughts and aspirations of the seriously wounded soldiers being treated there; at the same time, respectfully visited Vietnamese Heroic Mother Nguyen Thi Duan, 102 years old in Nghi My commune, Nghi Loc district, praising the resilient and exemplary spirit of previous generations.

Along with that, the whole province organized many working groups at district and commune levels to visit and give gifts to encourage more than 12,000 meritorious people and their relatives.
In particular, implementing the direction of the President, Nghe An has organized a gift giving ceremony for people with meritorious services and relatives of martyrs with a gift of VND500,000/gift. The total cost of gifts from the State budget is paid on schedule, ensuring no missing subjects, no negativity occurs.
Sustainable care, promoting the tradition of "remembering the source when drinking water"
Not only stopping at visiting and giving gifts, localities in the province also simultaneously organize incense offering and burning candleces to pay tribute at martyrs cemeteries, monuments and historical sites.
At the Vietnam - Laos International Martyrs' Cemetery (Anh Son District), Vinh City Martyrs' Cemetery and hundreds of other cemeteries in the province, the gratitude candle burning ceremony was held solemnly and respectfully. Youth union members, students, armed forces and people together lit up tens of thousands of candles, respectfully bowing down to commemorate the great contributions of those who sacrificed for the independence and freedom of the nation.
The burning candles at night not only light up the martyrs' graves but also light up the fire of gratitude and continued responsibility in today's generation.
In parallel with gratitude activities on the occasion of major holidays, Nghe An continues to promote the "Thanks for gratitude" movement with sustainable solutions. The Provincial People's Committee directs localities to review, repair and upgrade the system of memorial monuments and martyrs cemeteries, ensuring spaciousness and solemnity.
Many districts, towns and cities have proactively mobilized social resources to support the construction and repair of houses for people with meritorious services facing housing difficulties; implemented free periodic health check-ups; prioritized job creation for children of policy families.
In addition, the province has promoted propaganda and education on patriotic traditions for the younger generation.
According to Vice Chairman of Nghe An Provincial People's Committee Bui Dinh Long, the tradition of "remembering the source of water when drinking" and "remembering the growers" has become a core part of the behavioral culture of the Party Committee, government and people of Nghe An.
The practical and humane actions on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South are not only a sincere gratitude to previous generations but also a continuation of the revolutionary fire, fueling Nghe An's homeland to be richer in traditions and strongly rise up in the new era.
