The Food Safety Department received a report from the National Institute for Food Safety and Hygiene testing on the results of testing monitoring samples, showing that the two food products protect health and seriously violate food safety regulations when containing the banned substance Sibutramine.

Phuc Linh Gold Spring Sifting Products ( batch number: 11 2023, production date: 1.1.11.2023, expiration date: 1.1.11.2026) imported and distributed by EU YB Joint Stock Company (address in Group 20, Minh Tan Ward, Yen Bai City). This product is produced at Austin Biologic & Technology Limited (Austin Road West Level 206, International Commerce Centre, Hong Kong). Test results determined that this product sample was positive for Sibutramine.
The second product is Best Slim Collagen ( batch number: 29L367, expiration date: 01.2027), which Hoa Anh Dao Medical Equipment Company Limited at Hamlet 4, Hai Boi village, Hai Boi commune, Dong Anh district, Hanoi city is responsible for importing, distributing and quality of the product. The product originates from the US, produced by Arnet Pharmaceutical (2525 Davie Road, Bldg 330, Davie, Florida 33317). Test results also showed that this product sample was positive for Sibutramine.
Sibutramine is a banned substance in food due to its serious risk to consumers' health, especially related to cardiovascular and neurological diseases. The discovery of banned substances in these two products poses a great risk to public health.
Sibutramine is a banned substance, often abused in weight loss products for its ability to reduce cravings. However, this active ingredient poses a serious health risk, especially for people with cardiovascular disease and blood pressure.
In Vietnam, since 2010, the Drug Administration of Vietnam (Ministry of Health) has stopped granting import licenses for Sibutramine and on April 14, 2011, officially suspended circulation and recalled all drugs containing this active ingredient due to unwanted effects. Sibutramine is currently on the list of banned substances used in the production and trading of health protection foods according to Circular No. 10/2021/TT-BYT.
The Food Safety Department is taking measures to handle the situation according to regulations, and at the same time recommends that people stop using the two above products to protect their health.
