These days, the small house of Mr. Nguyen Chi Linh and Mrs. Ly Thi Ne's family in Phu Hoa A hamlet, Phu Tam commune (Can Tho city) is busier than usual when 2 twin sons Nguyen Quoc Huy and Nguyen Quoc Hoang (born 2006) both passed the enrollment for the People's Police Service (CAND).

Talking to reporters, when asked who initiated the writing of the volunteer application, Nguyen Quoc Hoang - his younger brother - said that he was the one who decided first.
Both brothers want to stand in the ranks of the People's Police, so we registered to participate in serving the country," Quoc Hoang shared.
According to Quoc Hoang, this intention was not spontaneous. In 2025, after graduating from 12th grade, both of them applied to the People's Police University but did not meet health requirements due to being "short and underweight". Not discouraged, the two brothers decided not to apply to any other school but stayed at home to help their parents farm, and at the same time continued to train physically.
When he knew that there would be a military recruitment in 2026 and he was subject to performing his duty, Hoang proactively said to his brother: "I am writing a voluntary application to participate in the duty". Quoc Huy - his brother - immediately agreed, because he himself had already intended to participate in the CAND duty.
“We understand that the military environment will have many challenges. However, this is an opportunity to train bravery, will and become more mature. We have prepared ourselves mentally to step into a disciplined environment,” Quoc Hoang said.
Quoc Hoang shared that both brothers are dynamic and sociable; their height and weight are almost the same, so many people find it difficult to distinguish. From childhood to adulthood, the two always studied in the same class, their academic results were equivalent, and all major and minor decisions were exchanged and agreed upon.
Quoc Hoang said that if they are not in the same unit later, both will "probably be sad". However, being listed in the enlistment list is not only a milestone of youth but also an opportunity to train their bravery in a disciplined environment.
First of all, fulfilling responsibilities to the Fatherland, then continuing to strive to have the opportunity to stand in the ranks of the People's Public Security Forces, serving the country for a long time," Quoc Hoang shared.
Mr. Nguyen Chi Linh - the father of the two children - said that the family lives by farming. He used to participate in mass organization work in the locality for about 10 years, including 2 years as a police officer in Phu Tam commune (belonging to Chau Thanh district, Soc Trang province before). After that, for personal reasons, he resigned.
When they learned that their two children were volunteering, the family was somewhat surprised but completely respected and supported them. With experience in participating in grassroots forces, Mr. Linh frankly discussed with his children about the difficulties and challenges in a disciplined environment, and encouraged them to try to train and complete their tasks well.

Similarly, in Tran De commune (Can Tho City), twin brothers Chau Hoang Nhan and Chau Hoang Nghia also wrote voluntary applications to participate in performing their CAND duties in 2026.
Born into a family with normal economic circumstances, father working as a fisherman often going to sea for long days, mother making folk cakes for street vendors, Hoang Nhan and Hoang Nghia soon became aware of their responsibility to their families and society. Growing up in a seaport area, witnessing the police force maintaining security and order, the two brothers nurtured the dream of wearing the CAND uniform.
When we knew there was a recruitment campaign, we wrote voluntary applications together with the desire to be trained in a disciplined environment, contributing to protecting peace for the people," Hoang Nhan shared.
Ms. Hua Thi Sinh - Nhan and Nghia's mother - said that her husband often goes to sea, at home mainly the three mothers and children gather together. "When my children express their desire to participate in the CAND duty, my husband and I respect their decision, support them to fulfill their duties to the Fatherland. Although I miss and love my children when both are away, I always encourage my children to try to train and complete their tasks well," Ms. Sinh shared.
Previously, in 2025, in Thoi An Hoi commune, Ke Sach district, Soc Trang province (now Can Tho city), three brothers Ly Tien Tan, Ly Tien Tai and Ly Tien Loc (born 2005) jointly wrote applications to volunteer to enlist in the army.
And in 2024, in Hoa Tu 2 commune, My Xuyen district, Soc Trang province, twin brothers Le Minh Nhat and Le Minh Phu (born 2004) also unanimously volunteered to perform military service.
