On April 4, information from Naval Region 4 said that forces on ship 785, Flotilla 413, Brigade 955 had just successfully rescued 2 fishermen and a fishing boat that broke down and drifted at sea in the Cam Ranh area, Khanh Hoa province.
Previously, on April 1, the fishing boat departed from Ly Son Island (Quang Ngai) on its way to Ho Chi Minh City. There were 2 crew members on board, owned by Mr. Nguyen Cao (born in 1970, from Quang Ngai).
During the movement, the boat broke down, lost maneuverability and drifted at sea, so they called for help from functional agencies.
Implementing the order of the Region 4 Command, at 8:30 am on April 4, ship 785 quickly maneuvered to the area about 5 nautical miles northeast of Cam Ranh to carry out rescue work for fishing boat number LA-03973.
After approaching the fishing boat, officers and soldiers checked the condition of the vehicle, the health of the 2 fishermen was stable and the spirit was good.
By 12:00 PM on the same day, Ship 785 successfully towed the fishing boat into the Cam Ranh Bay area for repair. During the mission, the force on board also provided fresh water and essential supplies for fishermen.
The timely and professional action of Ship 785 and officers and soldiers of Flotilla 413 has ensured absolute safety for crew members and vehicles, demonstrating the readiness to rescue and salvage at sea of the Navy force.
