According to Lao Dong, since the evening of November 4, many households in Thanh Da and Binh Quoi peninsles have been busy arranging furniture, building sandbags, building walls... ready to cope with rising water.

The previous high tide caused a lot of damage, especially in the Thanh Da peninsula. Ms. Quach Thi Ngoc Tuyet (60 years old) said that water suddenly flooded into her house due to a broken wall on the Binh Quoi side, damaging many properties.
"Children sleep all at relatives' houses, while adults move out on the street, staying up all night because they are afraid of house collapse.
This time, hearing about the new high tide, I raised my belongings and wardrobe, prepared early so as not to be surprised anymore. As for the walls, they are being rebuilt, higher, and sandbags are being prepared to gradually increase," Ms. Tuyet shared.
Ms. Luong Thi My Duyen said that after the recent flood, now all her family are worried.
"The whole neighborhood has proactively arranged equipment and reinforced their houses. Anyone who has experienced it can understand the uneasy feeling when seeing the water rise every hour," said Ms. Duyen.

Previously, the high tide on October 24 caused a lot of damage to the people of Thanh Da peninsula. The authorities also took action immediately after the incident. The Civil Defense Command of Binh Quoi Ward mobilized 60 militia and self-defense forces to coordinate in overcoming the situation, using more than 1,500 bags of soil to block the water. PC07 force under Ho Chi Minh City Police sent more than 16 officers and 2 rescue vehicles to support people in evacuating their assets to ensure safety.
According to the forecast of the Southern Hydrometeorological Station on November 4, the peak of this high tide may appear on November 6 - 7, at 1.72 - 1.88 m, about 0.12 - 0.28 m above alert level 3.
This is the high tide period of the year, accompanied by heavy rain, which can cause flooding in low-lying areas, affecting traffic and people's lives. People need to proactively take preventive measures to prevent possible damage.
