Tonight (July 2), Ho Chi Minh City will organize fireworks displays at 16 locations in the area on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of Saigon - Gia Dinh city officially named after President Ho Chi Minh (July 2, 1976 - July 2, 2026). In parallel with that, the 3D mapping performance program at the front of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee headquarters (Saigon ward) continues with the second night of performance, promising to bring to people as well as domestic and foreign tourists a "party" of unique sound and lighting.
Recorded in the area in front of the headquarters of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, many people were present to watch the 3D mapping performance at 7:30 PM tonight. Despite the rain, many people still patiently covered themselves with umbrellas, wore raincoats or found shelter to enjoy this unique art program.
Besides the 3D mapping performance, many people also planned to stay in the central area to continue watching the simultaneous fireworks display at 9 pm. Two events took place in succession in the same evening, making the atmosphere in the city center become bustling.
Present from after 6 pm, Ms. Nguyen Thi Bich Tram (Tan Tao ward) said that this is a special occasion, so she arranged to come early to have a good location.
Although it was raining, my sister and I were still very excited. We planned from about a week ago to be able to participate in tonight's activities. The feeling was both suspenseful and emotional, like reliving the atmosphere of the April 30th anniversary last year. I also stayed until evening to wait to watch the fireworks display," Ms. Tram shared.
Meanwhile, Mr. Tran Quoc Huy (32 years old, residing in Phu Nhuan ward) said that although the distance to get to the city center only takes about 15 minutes, he still decided to come early to avoid congestion. "The atmosphere from the afternoon has been very bustling, even though it is raining, everyone is happy and eager to wait for the fireworks display time. I think this will be a memorable night for city residents," Mr. Huy said.
In the Bach Dang wharf area (Saigon ward), Nguyen Hue pedestrian street, Saigon riverside park (Thu Thiem ward) and many adjacent roads, the number of people flocking is increasing.
Functional forces are also present at intersections to divert and regulate traffic, ensuring security and order to serve people to have fun and enjoy art performances.
According to the plan, the fireworks display program will take place simultaneously on the evening of July 2 at 16 locations in Ho Chi Minh City, including 5 high-altitude firing points and 11 low-altitude firing points, promising to bring a mãn nhãn performance, contributing to creating a vibrant atmosphere on the 50th anniversary of Saigon - Gia Dinh city officially named after President Ho Chi Minh.
