According to the Ban Lau Commune Forest Protection Station (Muong Khuong Forest Protection Department), a household in Na Pha village, Ban Lau commune, Lao Cai province had previously discovered and arrested 2 monkeys in the family's garden.
Through inspection, supervision and propaganda on legal regulations on wildlife protection, the forest rangers have approached and clearly explained the risk of affecting human health as well as the negative impact on the ecosystem if they continue to keep wild animals in captivity.
After being persuaded, the people agreed to hand over all the animals to the authorities.

During the day, the Muong Khuong Forest Protection Department coordinated with the Hoang Lien Tourism and Conservation Center (Hoang Lien National Park) to receive 2 monkeys, conduct health check-ups, and bring them to the special care area. Here, individuals will be restored to their natural range before being released back into the forest when they meet the conditions.
It is known that the two monkeys mentioned above are the Golden Monkey (Macaca mulatta) and the Apricot Monkey (Macaca leonina). This is a wild animal species on the list of managed and protected.
This species often lives in flocks in tropical forests and plays an important role in ecological balance. However, illegal hunting and captivity still occurs, affecting the quantity and natural behavior of the species.
Timely mobilization, reception and transfer of wild animals to rescue centers not only contributes to biodiversity conservation but also raises public awareness in forest and wildlife protection.
