On February 15, the Quang Tri Provincial Military Command confirmed that it had just safely handled a bullet depot remaining after the war.
The bullet hole was discovered in Vinh An village (Cam Hieu commune, Cam Lo district, Quang Tri province) during the construction of the cemetery.
Immediately after receiving the information, the Quang Tri Provincial Military Command reported to superiors, then directed the Engineering force to organize and coordinate with the locality to block off the scene.
During the inspection, the bullet depot was found to contain 42 explosives of various types, including 11 57mm guns, 10 high-performance M79 guns (40mm), 7 37mm guns, 7 60mm guns, 4 82mm guns, and 3 bombs.
Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Tien Tinh, Deputy Chief of Staff of the Provincial Military Command, directly commanded the handling of the discovered explosives.
Accordingly, the Engineering force of the Provincial Military Command detonated dangerous explosives on the spot, and moved the remaining explosives to the centralized detention site to handle them to ensure absolute safety for people and technical vehicles.
