People spread rocks to thank after landslides
Recently, the landslide situation in Vinh Long province has been complicated, directly affecting houses and roads, typically in Hamlet 4A, Cai Ngang commune, a landslide section about 15m long, causing many households to worry because it affects their daily life and production.
Mr. Nguyen Hong Dieu, in Hamlet 4A, said that the landslide threatened his house and made it difficult to travel.
"We hope the government will soon fix it to reduce the damage. People have to pour 5-7 blocks of stone onto a nearly 300m long road on someone else's land to get used to it every day," Mr. Dieu added.

Faced with these difficulties, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Hung - Head of Hamlet 4A said that the government is closely monitoring the situation and supporting people to overcome the damage.
According to Mr. Hung, normally, people buy construction stone at 370,000 VND/black, but now they have to buy an additional 10,000 VND/black.
Mr. Hung emphasized that in addition to material damage, stabilizing people's lives, travel and production also face difficulties. Emergency measures are being implemented, but a long-term plan is still needed.
"People in the hamlet hope that authorities at all levels will soon fix the landslides, protect their houses and roads, reduce financial damage and stabilize daily life and production to normal," Mr. Hung added.
Temporary solutions waiting for funding
Talking to Lao Dong, Mr. Tran Ngoc Tuan - Chairman of Cai Ngang Commune People's Committee, informed: there are currently 4 landslides in the commune with a total length of about 80m, directly affecting people's daily life and travel.
The Commune People's Committee has implemented temporary remedial measures according to the 4-on-site motto including commanders, forces, materials and logistics, to minimize damage and ensure safety for the people.

Mr. Tuan added that the authorities and local authorities always closely monitor the developments of landslides, plan reinforcements, and coordinate with people to protect their houses and stabilize their lives.
Coordination with specialized agencies has also been implemented to develop long-term plans, prevent risks when the rainy and stormy season comes, helping people feel more secure.
The goal of the Commune People's Committee is to temporarily overcome the problem, while implementing a sustainable treatment plan, ensuring the safety of houses, roads and daily activities, and at the same time waiting for funding from superiors to carry out solid repairs," Mr. Tuan added.
