On the morning of June 2, Nha Trang City Cyclo Union under Nha Trang City Labor Federation worked with Mr. Dao Loc - a union member, regarding the act of extorting money from foreign tourists before.
At the meeting, Mr. Dao Loc said that the incident in the clip occurred on May 31. Accordingly, a woman and her daughter took a cyclo from Nguyen Thi Minh Khai Street to 98 Tran Phu.
Before getting on the bus, the two sides agreed on a price of 50,000 VND for the trip.
However, when they arrived, visitors only gave them 5,000 VND. After Mr. Loc reacted strongly, the customer agreed to pay 35,000 VND.
Although he accepted this amount of money, Mr. Dao Loc admitted that due to being in a hurry, he had behaved uncivilizedly towards tourists.
After the incident became noisy on social networking forums, Mr. Dao Loc realized the mistakes in the way he treated tourists; violated the regulations of the Cyclo Union; affected the image of the local tourism industry.
During the meeting with the Union, Mr. Loc apologized to the tourists and pledged not to repeat the offense.
At the meeting, Mr. Le Quang Nhat - Vice Chairman of Nha Trang City Labor Federation, Chairman of Nha Trang Tourism Cyclo Union said that Mr. Loc's behavior in the offensive clip was not in accordance with the rules and regulations of conduct that the Union had promoted to union members.
The union found that Mr. Dao Loc had violated internal regulations and rules of operation, so the members at the meeting agreed to revoke the union membership card, license plate, and union uniform.
In addition, the Union will assign the Head of Group 5 to pair, support and challenge after a period of time to be ready to receive into the Union if he complies with the Union's rules and regulations.
