On the morning of March 13, Mr. Lai Duc Dai, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture - Sports and Tourism of Dak Lak, confirmed that the light festival, part of the series of activities of the 9th Buon Ma Thuot Coffee Festival, taking place on the evening of March 12, attracted about 100,000 attendees.
"Before the program took place, the organizing committee decided that there would be a lot of people attending, so they had calculated options to ensure the safety of the participants," Mr. Dai shared.
According to research, during the light festival night, when the singers performed, the crowd flocked to the stage. In the sea of people, there was a pregnant woman who was trapped and fainted.
After that, relatives of the pregnant woman tried to find a way to get the victim out, but the movement was extremely difficult.
Next, Dak Lak Provincial Police immediately grabbed the pregnant woman through the crowd to take her to the emergency room.
Captain Vu Thai Dac, an officer of the Internal Political Security Department, Dak Lak Provincial Police, said: "I was the one who directly rescued the pregnant woman. With the support of the mobile police force paving the way, I tried to get the woman out as soon as possible to ensure her safety.
After that, the woman was taken by a specialized vehicle to the nearest medical facility for examination".
The light festival was performed with 500 drones and the participation of famous artists such as AMEE, Quang Hung Master D, Miss H'Hen Nie... attracting the attention and participation of people and tourists.
