On February 21, speaking with Lao Dong, a representative of Thuan Hoa District Green Tree Park (Hue City) said that after receiving the feedback, the unit quickly deployed forces and means to repair and replace the damaged and rotten wooden bars on the bridge deck.
According to the inspection, there were 52 damaged and rotten ironwood bars. Immediately after receiving information from the press, the center sent staff to replace the damaged wooden bars.

Regarding the repair cost, a representative of the Thuan Hoa District Green Tree Park Center informed that the lim wooden bridge project has a warranty period of 2 years, so all repair costs during this period are the responsibility of the construction unit. After the warranty period, all costs for bridge repair and maintenance will be planned, permission will be obtained and funding will be used from the budget.
The lim Wood Bridge is one of the projects under the pilot project funded by KOICA that will not be refunded. The project belongs to level IV technical infrastructure, consulted by Han-A Research Institute and Dohwa Technical Company of Korea; Thua Thien Hue Irrigation Construction Joint Stock Company is responsible for construction and installation.
The project has a total cost of VND52.9 billion, including items such as a pedestrian bridge, a ironwood flooring, a boat dock, an outdoor performance stage... Of which, a 400m long, 4m wide pedestrian bridge, a floor surface paved with 16,000 ironwood bars originating from South Africa, 5cm thick, with a total wood paving area of over 2,400m2, worth over VND5.7 billion. Due to being made from open-air wood and affected by harsh climate in Hue, especially during the rainy season, the bridge is often submerged in water when the Huong River rises, causing many ironwood bars to rot and damage over time.
