The incident occurred at 12:30 pm on February 18 at km1+500 of the National Highway 37 bypass in Chua Van residential group, Chu Van An ward. At this time, Mr. L.V. H (born in 1979, residing in Bai Chay ward, Quang Ninh province) was driving a car in the direction of National Highway 37 to National Highway 18 when it collided with an unlicensed electric motorbike driven by Ms. T.T. N (born in 1958, residing in Khang Tho residential group, Chu Van An ward) carrying baby N.Q. P (born in 2017, same address) sitting behind the car. Ms. N was traveling in the direction of National Highway 37 - National Highway 18, and was turning around.
As a result, Ms. N died on the way to the hospital. The preliminary cause was that Ms. N changed direction incorrectly according to regulations.
Also according to the Traffic Safety Board, during the 6 days of Tet holiday (from February 14 to 19), the Traffic Police force of the City Police controlled 38,542 vehicles, handled 1,887 violations, of which 417 cases were alcohol concentration violations.
