HCMC - Saigon Ward Police are verifying the case of a public toilet on Hai Ba Trung Street that disappeared and suddenly reappeared.

On November 18, Mr. Hoang Cong Hiep, General Director of Tien Phong Environmental Technology Joint Stock Company, confirmed that he had sent a report to the Saigon Ward Police, Ho Chi Minh City, about the loss of the company's assets.

Tien Phong Environmental Technology Joint Stock Company is the unit permitted by the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee to implement the project of socializing investment, installation and operation of free public toilets in the area.

Accordingly, in May 2023, the company installed a toilet facility with a kiosk at location 2-4-6 Hai Ba Trung to serve the essential needs of people and tourists.

However, according to Mr. Hiep, on the morning of November 11, the company discovered that the entire public toilet project and assets inside the kiosk (including a stone cabinet, freezer, soft drink mixing equipment, etc.) had been dismantled and moved away from the scene that night.

Mr. Hiep affirmed that the company has not received any documents notifying of relocation or enforcement decisions related to the project. "This is an unusual thing that needs to be clarified," said Mr. Hiep.

On November 12, the company officially reported to Saigon Ward Police, and at the same time sent a complaint to Saigon Ward People's Committee, and Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee.

Regarding the incident, on the afternoon of November 18, speaking with a reporter from Lao Dong Newspaper, a representative of Saigon Ward Police confirmed that they had received a report from Mr. Hiep. The police officer said: "I lost the night before, but returned the next night. The brothers have received the report and are handling and verifying it."

Currently, Saigon Ward Police are closely coordinating with the Ward People's Committee to verify, clarify the incident and handle it in accordance with the provisions of law.
