On November 18, Mr. Vo Tan Truc - Chairman of the People's Committee of Yang Mao commune (Dak Lak) - said that the commune's functional forces used ropes to evacuate about 200 people in Ea Hanh village from the isolated area, located in the landslide risk area, to a safe shelter.
Due to the strong flood water, it was impossible to use boats or canoes, so the commune government stretched a large rope across the river to get each person out of the danger zone.
"It is currently raining heavily, the authorities have temporarily stopped evacuating the remaining people. Forces are supplying necessities, life buoys, life jackets, and medicine to the isolated area and developing the safest evacuation plan, Mr. Truc informed.
In Yang Mao commune, there are 4 villages isolated and 2 bridges damaged by floodwaters, cutting off traffic. Recorded in village 2, Ong Muoi bridge was washed away and severely damaged, making it impossible for trucks and cars to move. To supply necessities, the commune police force, militia and people transported goods by motorbike to the flooded areas.
In the face of complicated flooding, Mr. Ta Anh Tuan - Chairman of Dak Lak Provincial People's Committee - issued an urgent telegram on responding to heavy rain, floods, inundation and landslides.

Chairmen of People's Committees of communes and wards are required to deploy shock forces to review residential areas along rivers and streams, low-lying areas; proactively relocate and evacuate people to safe places; arrange guards in areas with deep flooding and landslides.
At the same time, prepare forces, vehicles, equipment and necessities according to the "four on-site" motto to be ready to respond to all situations, especially in areas at risk of isolation.
