On the afternoon of November 18, Nghe An Provincial People's Council held a thematic session to review and decide on a number of important contents on personnel work under its authority.
At the meeting, the Provincial People's Council passed a resolution to dismiss Mr. Nguyen Duc Trung from the position of Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee for the 2021-2026 term to carry out the new transfer and work arrangement process.
Next, the Provincial People's Council reviewed the submission and conducted a vote to elect the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee for the 2021-2026 term. With a high number of votes of confidence, Nghe An Provincial People's Council elected Mr. Vo Trong Hai - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee - to hold the position of Chairman of Nghe An Provincial People's Committee.
Speaking on receiving the new assignment, Chairman of Nghe An Provincial People's Committee Vo Trong Hai said that receiving the assignment at the time when 2025 is about to end, is a pivotal time that requires determination, innovation, and strong action to reach the finish line early, to reach the finish line firmly, creating a foundation for the province's next development stage.
"The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee in the new period is not only the person who operates - manages but also the person who creates, guides, inspires, and creates new momentum for rapid and sustainable development," Mr. Hai emphasized.
Previously, on November 14, the Secretariat issued Decision No. 2525-QDNS/TW to transfer and appoint Mr. Vo Trong Hai to cease holding the position of Deputy Secretary of the Ha Tinh Provincial Party Committee for the 2025-2030 term, participate in the Executive Committee, Standing Committee and hold the position of Deputy Secretary of the Nghe An Provincial Party Committee for the 2025-2030 term.
On November 17, Nghe An Provincial Party Committee held a ceremony to announce Decision No. 2525-QDNS/TW dated November 14, 2025 of the Central Party Secretariat on personnel work.
At the ceremony, on behalf of the Central Party Secretariat, Ms. Bui Thi Quynh Van presented the decision and presented flowers to congratulate Mr. Vo Trong Hai - the new Deputy Secretary of Nghe An Provincial Party Committee.
Mr. Vo Trong Hai (born in 1968, hometown Duc Tho commune, Ha Tinh province) has a qualification as a Commander - Border Guard University, University of Law; Senior in political theory. He has held the following positions: Commander of the Ha Tinh Border Guard, Head of the Ha Tinh Provincial Party Committee's Internal Affairs Committee, Director of Ha Tinh Police, Director of Nghe An Police and Chairman of the Ha Tinh Provincial People's Committee. In 2020, while holding the position of Director of Nghe An Provincial Police, Mr. Vo Trong Hai was promoted to the rank of Major General.
