Recently, there was information reflecting that some transport and travel businesses were stoned and had their glass broken while traveling on the Noi Bai - Lao Cai expressway, especially in the Km87 area through Tien Luong commune, Phu Tho province.
On the morning of May 13, in an exchange with a reporter from Lao Dong Newspaper, Mr. Do Van Bang - owner of Sao Viet bus company (specializing in the Hanoi - Lao Cai - Sa Pa route) - said that the unit had about 6 vehicles stoned while traveling on the Noi Bai - Lao Cai expressway.
Especially in the night and early morning of April 30 - May 1, 3 cars were stoned, the remaining cases occurred sporadically during the days.

According to Mr. Bang, the cause of the above situation is not clear, because not only Sao Viet bus company, but many other transport and travel businesses have also been stoned when traveling on this expressway.
The above act is a violation of the law, not only causing property damage to transport businesses but also threatening the safety of passengers and people.
Previously, in early May 2026, the Lao Cai Provincial Tourism Association had Official Dispatch No. 12/HHDL-VP sent to the People's Committees of Lao Cai, Phu Tho provinces, the Traffic Police Department, local police and Vietnam Expressway Corporation (VEC) - proposing to urgently handle the above situation.

According to the Lao Cai Provincial Tourism Association, the above situation, if not handled soon, will negatively affect the image of a safe and friendly destination; and at the same time affect inter-provincial trade, tourism and transportation activities.
Therefore, this unit requests functional forces to strengthen night patrols, urgently investigate and strictly handle violators.
At the same time, it is proposed that the road management unit supplement the lighting system, install surveillance cameras and reinforce safety at people's overpasses.
