On April 15, Gia Lai Provincial Social Insurance said that as of March 31, 2026, the total amount of insurance late payment for employees by businesses is over 290 billion VND.
The reasons why businesses owe and are late in paying insurance are mainly due to the impact of many factors such as: tariff policies, international trade, armed conflicts between countries around the world... Business activities are facing many difficulties.
Some businesses are also directly and greatly affected by natural disasters (storm No. 13, floods at the end of 2025). In addition, there are a few businesses that deliberately avoid and evade the obligation to pay insurance for employees.
Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee has requested the Provincial Inspectorate to develop a thematic inspection and examination plan for units with prolonged late payments, large amounts of money; strictly handle violations according to legal regulations; propose competent authorities to consider responsibilities for serious violations.
The Provincial Police directed professional units to coordinate in verifying and handling acts of evasion and fraud of social insurance, health insurance, and unemployment insurance according to the provisions of law; consider criminal handling for cases that are sufficient elements to constitute a crime.
