On September 19, the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Dak Lak province said that the unit has advised the Provincial People's Committee to direct localities and relevant agencies to proactively develop plans and be ready to respond to any natural disaster that may occur.
Especially in recent days there have been forecasts of storms that could affect the Central Highlands region in general and Dak Lak province in particular.
Dak Lak province requires units managing and operating irrigation works, localities with works and reservoirs, to strengthen reinforcement solutions and have safe spillway discharge measures.
Currently, some projects have been and are being regulated to discharge spillways such as Ea Sup Thuong Lake and Buon Tua Srah Reservoir. At Ea Sup Thuong Lake, heavy rain has occurred in the area in recent days and is forecast to continue, causing a large amount of water to flow into the lake.
Therefore, Ea Sup Irrigation Branch (Dak Lak Irrigation Works Management Company Limited) decided to regulate and discharge flood water from the afternoon of September 18 with a flow rate of 50 - 110 m3/s.
The reservoir management unit will also open two sluice gates. Therefore, people in the downstream area need to take the initiative to prevent damage to people and property.
At Buon Tua Srah reservoir, due to high water levels in the lake, to ensure safety, in recent days Buon Kuop Hydropower Company has been regulating the spillway.
Currently, the Buon Tua Srah reservoir operator is still regulating. Before regulating the spillway, the company has notified relevant agencies to coordinate and disseminate information to people in the downstream area to proactively prevent.
