On September 13, in Can Tho City, the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations, the US Diplomatic mission to Vietnam and the People's Committee of Can Tho City jointly organized the Vietnam - US Friendship Exchange Program. This is an activity in a series of events celebrating the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and the United States.
Speaking at the ceremony, Vice Chairwoman of Can Tho City People's Committee Nguyen Thi Ngoc Diep informed that in recent years, the cooperation between Can Tho City and localities and US partners has had many outstanding results: export turnover to the US in the first 6 months of 2025 reached more than 228 million USD; there are 4 FDI projects invested directly from the US; NGO projects with aid from the US in various fields. In addition, many international cooperation agreements have been signed.
The Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Can Tho City said that with the solid foundation of the Vietnam - US Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, with the backbone of friendship and cooperation of 30 years of developing local-level relations, Can Tho City will continue to accompany and closely coordinate with the Embassy, Consulate General of the United States and the business community, US investors to open the next brilliant 30-year period in the cooperative relationship between the two sides...
