On the morning of September 23, Can Tho City Hydrometeorological Station said that the water level at Can Tho station (Hau River) is rising very rapidly. From September 25 onwards, the water level may cause deep flooding in Binh Thuy and Cai Khe areas; local flooding in Ninh Kieu and Cai Rang areas... Some low-lying areas and areas outside dikes may be widely flooded, seriously affecting daily life and production.
According to forecasts, at Can Tho hydrological station (Hau River), on September 25, the water level may reach 1.98 m at 4:30 am, exceeding alarm level 2 by 8 cm. By September 29, the water level may reach 2.30 m at 6:30 am, exceeding alarm level 3 by 30 cm.
Currently, the water level on the Hau River is rising and at a high level. Combined with high tides (full moon of the 8th lunar month) and local rain, deep flooding may occur in the Binh Thuy, Cai Khe areas; local flooding in Ninh Kieu, Cai Rang...
Severe localized flooding may occur in Nga Bay ward area; localized flooding in Vi Thanh, Soc Trang and Hung Loi wards, along with some low-lying areas and areas outside dikes.
Previously, on September 18, Can Tho City People's Committee issued a document requesting departments, branches and localities to urgently implement proactive solutions to respond to natural disasters, in order to minimize damage to people and property.
