On October 24, news from the Hue City Hydrometeorological Station said that due to the consecutive impact of natural disasters in August, September and storm No. 12, the coast in Hue City continues to be seriously eroded.
According to statistics, in Thuan An ward, the coastline through Hoa Duan residential group was severely eroded with a length of about 1km, eroding 50 - 70m into the mainland, directly affecting essential infrastructure, tourism services and posing a potential risk of forming a new estuary.
The 2km long coastline through Vinh Loc commune was also eroded, 10 - 30m deep, threatening Provincial Road 21 and civil works. In Phu Loc commune, the asphalt road to Tan An Hai village (about 450m from Tu Hien bridge) was eroded by waves, with a roadbed erosion of 0.5 - 2m over a length of nearly 500m.

Prolonged heavy rain also caused landslides in many mountainous localities. In Khe Tre commune (Nam Dong district), the slope at the intersection from the highway to the commune center was eroded, the government coordinated with the Ho Chi Minh Road Project Management Board to handle and prevent vehicles from passing. The Pass No. 5 area (Loc Hung village) is at risk of isolating about 40 households, while the section between Da Phu - Ha An village and village 2 has 65 households affected, the locality has developed a relocation plan to ensure safety.
In particular, in Kim Long ward, Km23+800 National Highway 49 (from Cham to Tuan bridge) suffered a landslide on the negative slope towards the bank of the Huong River, at risk of further landslides. The authorities have put up warning signs, issued a lane and are on duty to monitor 24/7.
