On September 3, the Gia Lai Provincial Military Command said that during the excavation and collection of biological samples from martyrs' remains at An Thanh Martyrs' Cemetery (Van Duc commune), functional forces discovered many artifacts in martyrs' graves without information.
At grave number 14, area C, row 2, the task force discovered a plastic comb engraved with the words "DUC THANG".
Although there is no more information about full name, hometown, and work unit, the words on the comb are important clues to continue searching the file, searching for comrades, relatives and related witnesses.
At grave number 10, area C, row 9, functional forces discovered 3 memorabilia including a rusty medal, a black leather wallet and a faded girl's photo.
The artifacts are preserved and recorded to serve the comparison of records, verification of identities and search for relatives of martyrs.
According to the Gia Lai Provincial Military Command, by September 3, the excavation and sampling of martyrs' remains had completed 100% of the target, deployed at 113 martyrs' cemeteries in the province.
The discovery and preservation of artifacts associated with unidentified graves can provide more valuable clues, contributing to verifying identities, bringing martyrs back to their names, hometowns and families.
