Regarding the passenger car overturning on the National Highway 19 bypass that killed 4 people and injured many others, on September 1, Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee said that provincial leaders had directed relevant agencies and units to handle the accident.
The Chairman of Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee assigned the Provincial Police to direct functional forces to urgently investigate, determine the cause and handle the accident according to legal regulations.

The Department of Construction is assigned to coordinate with Project Management Board 2 (Ministry of Construction) - the unit managing the road where the accident occurred - to urgently inspect and request thorough remediation of inadequacies and damage to infrastructure, ensuring conditions for handover and putting the road into operation according to regulations.
At the same time, coordinate with relevant units and localities to inspect, urge, guide and handle inadequacies in traffic infrastructure in the area according to management decentralization, contributing to ensuring traffic safety.
The Chairman of Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee also assigned the Department of Health to direct medical facilities to focus forces, ensure sufficient medicine and necessary conditions to rescue victims.
From the above accident, Gia Lai Provincial Police recommends that people, businesses and transport units not arbitrarily circulate on roads that have not been inspected, handed over and allowed to operate.

Going on roads that do not meet the conditions poses a potential risk of unsafety, especially when it rains heavily and visibility is limited. Vehicle drivers need to comply with traffic safety regulations, check the operation status and choose a suitable route, especially for routes under construction or not yet allowed to be put into use.
As Lao Dong Newspaper reported, at about 3:10 am on August 31, a sleeper bus with license plate 50E-449. 17 driven by driver Nguyen Canh Ha Long (born 1993, residing in An Binh ward) was traveling on the western Pleiku bypass, passing through Hoi Phu ward, Gia Lai province.
When reaching Km10+600, the passenger car suddenly overturned on the right side of the road, killing 4 people and injuring many others.
At the time of the accident, the scene area had heavy rain, dark and thick fog. Mud and soil from both sides of the road spilled onto the road surface, forming a layer of mud about 10cm thick, making the road surface slippery.
Notably, the road where the accident occurred has not been inspected and handed over for management, exploitation, and use. Some items on the route have not ensured the conditions according to regulations.
At the time of the accident, there were 31 passengers, 2 drivers and 1 assistant driver in the car.
On the same day, the Gia Lai Provincial Police Investigation Agency temporarily detained driver Nguyen Canh Ha Long for investigation and clarification of the cause of the accident.
Right on the morning of the accident, Vice Chairman of Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Huu Que came to the hospital to visit and encourage the victims. He directed relevant units to urgently rescue the victims, verify the cause of the accident and have solutions to prevent similar incidents.
