Vehicles sowing new habits

When my father, a man nearly 75 years old, invited my son to "go sightseeing the beauty of Hanoi by bus". I said: "You are free, because you are old, and the boy needs change to buy a ticket".

My father laughed and said: "Hanoi has only one free bus route".

It turns out that I have not updated the information, since August 18, Hanoi has put into operation the free electric bus route E11 connecting Yen Phu - Bo Ho - Lang Bac operated by Vin bus Company.

The information said that the E11 free electric bus route will operate on a pilot basis from now until the end of 2025, passing through many locations associated with Hanoi's history and culture such as Hoan Kiem Lake, President Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, Hanoi Old Quarter and central museums, connecting the past and present in each green journey of people and tourists.

The E11 electric bus route operates from 7am to 6pm, with a frequency of 12 minutes/trip on Saturday and Sunday; 15 minutes/trip on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday; and 18 minutes/trip on Monday and Friday.

This turned out to be a good way to do it. For a long time, despite many efforts, Hanoi buses have not yet completely won the hearts of passengers. It is still the case of starting and leaving the wharf involunces, the quality of many routes is not high, the stink is greasy, the attitude of bus conductors sometimes causes frustration.

In addition to other factors, "not causing much sympathy" for the bus system also causes the number of passengers to not increase as expected and public transport (including buses) only meets 18% of people's travel needs, although the target is 30%.

The changes in the bus system in the capital are huge: from the issuance of electronic tickets, the introduction of electric buses to improve the attitude of drivers and bus assistants... are worth noting.

This time it is a free bus trip, and it is very meaningful when it was opened on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day on September 2. Free buses are gradually changing people's perspective on public transportation in Hanoi.

Free electric buses not only solve travel needs, but also sow a new habit: Use public transport instead of private vehicles.

On that bus, the image of children eagerly walking with their parents, old men leisurely watching the streets, or students chatting and chatting... gradually created a friendly and civilized "bus culture".

In the future, when many free electric bus routes are expanded, Hanoi will not only reduce congestion and pollution but also form a green - clean - beautiful urban lifestyle. More importantly, the people of the capital will be more attached to and sympathetic to buses - a modern, civilized choice for today's and future life.

Therefore, my father and many Hanoians expect the free route to not only be a "pilot" from now until the end of 2025, but also need to expand, increase trips, increase routes so that free trips will create a new habit: The habit of using green - clean means of transport in daily traffic.
