Circular 69/2024/TT-BCA of the Ministry of Public Security regulates the command and control of road traffic by the Traffic Police. The Circular will take effect from January 1, 2025.
Article 6 of the Circular stipulates equipment, vehicles, weapons, and support tools of the Traffic Command and Control Police as follows:
In addition to the uniforms, equipment and vehicles prescribed for traffic police, traffic command and control police are equipped with:
Whistle, traffic baton, white gloves, reflective vest, flashlight, traffic police raincoat and rain boots.
Motorcycle, figure eight lock, handgun, holster, walkie talkie, walkie talkie microphone cable, walkie talkie microphone, electric baton, portable battery speaker and can of crime scene marking paint.
Smart devices supporting command and control of road traffic have been safety inspected by competent authorities and equipped or permitted for use by the Ministry of Public Security.
Other professional technical equipment and means as prescribed by the Ministry of Public Security.
The use of professional technical equipment, weapons and support tools must comply with the provisions of law and the Ministry of Public Security.

Equipping traffic control platforms and umbrellas to protect against rain and sun at intersections is as follows:
Traffic control platforms are circular or hexagonal prisms, painted white, with blue guiding arrows in the middle of the sides around the platform body.
Rain and sun umbrellas are made of yellow fabric printed with the Traffic Police logo and the words “Traffic Police”; the frame and base must be sturdy, easy to move, disassemble, repair and replace.
The specific regulations on the size, shape and equipment of traffic control platforms, rain and sun umbrellas are decided by the Director of the Traffic Police Department and the Director of the Provincial Police Department to ensure conformity with the organization, traffic infrastructure, and safety for the Traffic Command and Control Police, people and vehicles participating in road traffic.
