For many years, Mr. Y Krum (68 years old, residing in Quang Phu commune) has always been loved by the people in the village and considered a typical example in the work of mobilizing people to develop the economy and sustainably reduce poverty.
What he worries about most is how to help people know how to develop their household economy, gradually escape poverty and stabilize their lives.
He recalled that many years ago, Quang Phu still had many poor and near-poor households. People do not know how to grow fruit trees, and have not yet accessed effective livestock models. Most of them are produced according to experience, have not boldly borrowed capital, and have not yet accessed new techniques.
"People like me must be responsible for coordinating propaganda and mobilizing people to contribute to poverty reduction, while effectively using policies and support resources from the State to achieve good status," Mr. Y Krum shared.
From his enthusiasm and prestige, combined with the participation of grassroots cadres, the awareness of the people has changed significantly.
More and more households are boldly borrowing preferential capital, learning techniques for plant care, animal husbandry, and applying science to production. Many small models but suitable for local conditions have brought stable income to the people.
Not only mobilizing production, Mr. Y Krum also regularly participates in giving comments at village meetings, supporting propaganda on legal policies, land, and administrative procedures.
Thanks to that, many poor households in the commune have gradually changed their thinking about doing business, knowing how to take advantage of support policies to improve their lives.
Although some villages and hamlets in Quang Phu are still facing difficulties, the spirit of rising up of the people is gradually spreading in the community.
Stories of changing the world from preferential loans, from new livestock and crop models are gradually becoming a motivation for many other households to follow.
Promoting the role of grassroots cadres
Determining sustainable poverty reduction as a key task, the Quang Phu commune government has focused on perfecting the apparatus after the 2-level government model was adjusted.
The locality has built a team of capable cadres, civil servants and public employees, closely following the grassroots, grasping the lives of people to propagate and disseminate effective poverty reduction policies.
According to Mr. Cao Ba Hoang - Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Phu commune - from now until the end of 2025, the locality will continue to synchronously implement social security and poverty reduction policies.
The commune prioritizes the use of resources from the National Target Program for extremely disadvantaged areas and ethnic minority areas.
"The commune's goal is to reduce poverty quickly and sustainably, limit re-poorness, and improve the quality of life for people.
Along with that, we will mobilize more resources to invest in agricultural and rural development, Mr. Hoang emphasized.
