The power of great national unity in the implementation process
From the spirit of the Resolution of the XIII Congress of the Party, and high political determination from the National Assembly, the Government to the ministries, localities and businesses, the emulation movement speeds up the progress of key projects launched widely. In particular, the North -South Expressway Project in the East with a total length of 2,063km from Huu Nghi border gate (Lang Son) to Dat Mui (Ca Mau) is expected to be a national traffic spine.
Minister of Construction Tran Hong Minh said that the expressway system is gradually taking shape, connecting economic centers and regions, contributing to the development of a strategic economic corridor.
To date, our country has exploited 2,021km of highways. It is expected that by the end of 2025, about 3,000km will be put into use and by 2050, this figure will reach 5,000km. For the North-South Expressway alone, there are currently 28 component projects/projects being implemented with a total length of 1,188km, of which the Ministry of Construction and VEC are in charge of 17 projects (889km), localities are in charge of 11 projects (299km).
The success of the project not only comes from the government's efforts but also from the solidarity of the whole society. The representative of the Ministry of Construction shared, despite fierce competition when bidding, but when in the construction stage, contractors support each other. Typically at the end of 2023, in the process of completing two projects of National Highway 45 - Nghi Son and Nghi Son - Dien Chau, the contractor supported another contractor to 150 engineers and skilled workers - an unprecedented action, clearly showing the spirit of solidarity and mutuality of Vietnamese people.
Not only businesses and people also demonstrate solidarity through giving up land and donating land for road construction. At the inauguration ceremony of the Nghi Son - Dien Chau expressway more than a year ago, hundreds of people from neighboring areas attended early in the morning.
Ms. Bui Thi Ngoc - Truong Lam commune, Tinh Gia district, Thanh Hoa - shared that at first many people were concerned when being persuaded to hand over the land, but when they understood the long-term meaning, her family and many other households were willing to donate land without taking money. They even let workers stay and borrow belongings like family members.
