On April 21, news from Bien Ho Commune People's Committee said that it is expected that in May 2026, the Rong house project will be deployed in Ia Gri village, at the foot of the million-year-old tourist volcano.
The communal house of the village is about 13.4 meters long, 6.7 meters wide and about 18 meters high (calculated from the completed foundation to the top of the roof).
The Rong house is built with traditional materials such as wood, bamboo, and thatched roofs, suitable for the typical architecture, while ensuring harmony with the landscape of the Chu Dang Ya volcano area. The construction cost is about 3 billion VND, allocated by the Provincial People's Committee.
Previously, Gia Lai province requested the Management Board of Construction Investment Projects of Chu Pah area to completely demolish the reinforced concrete stilt house project worth more than 7 billion VND.

This project caused public outrage, affecting tourism because it was built not according to the original model, with large dimensions blocking the view of the volcano.
The investor and the project construction enterprise must completely demolish and relocate all raw materials, iron and steel, and piles.
To prepare for the construction of a new Rong house that is original, traditional, and friendly to nature and landscape, the Ia Gri village community organized a worship ceremony.

The worshiping rituals are carried out to pray for the process of erecting the Rong house to take place smoothly, the project to be solid, and at the same time for the people in the village to always be healthy, with favorable harvests and favorable weather.
