In recent days, in Song Cong City (Thai Nguyen), there has been prolonged heavy rain, causing the water level of the Cong River to rise, wring, and flow rapidly.
On June 28, Lao Dong Newspaper's reporter noted that at the Trai Ngua overflow underground bridge, connecting Ba Xuyen and Binh Son communes, part of the bridge surface was completely washed away by water.
Along the riverbank, which used to be coastal cultivated land, floodwaters are still flowing rapidly, sweeping away large pieces of land, creating deep erosion.

Each time the water splashed through, a section of landslide land was broken, many acacia trees were uprooted and flowed into the middle of the river.
As a household with a house near the spillway, Mr. Nguyen Van Binh (Ba Xuyen commune) said that since early morning, the riverside land has been washed away by floodwaters for nearly a sao (equivalent to about 360m2).
"At first, it was just small cracks and landslides, but over time, floodwater drilled deep into the shore to form a frog's jaw. Every rock of soil collapsed and drifted away," said Mr. Binh.
According to local people here, if there continues to be heavy rain and floodwaters rise, the risk of losing more land is inevitable.
Never before has the flood water been this deep. If this happens, the riverbank and the trees of the people here will also be swept away by floodwaters.
I hope the local government will soon have a plan to not affect farming and people's livelihoods," a local resident shared more.
Speaking to Lao Dong Newspaper, Mr. Duong Thuy Thanh - Vice Chairman of Ba Xuyen Commune People's Committee (Song Cong City) said that in the area along the Cong River, the flood water rose, posing a potential risk of landslides and insecurity.
Currently, the authorities have put up warning signs and monitored developments to propose appropriate handling options in the coming time.
