Started in 2016, the My Thuy intersection project (Thu Duc City) is divided into three investment phases. However, many items have been delayed for a long time due to problems in site clearance.
The project has a total investment of more than VND 3,400 billion, including two component projects: Construction and installation (VND 1,826 billion) and compensation and site clearance (VND 1,623 billion).
Recently, phase 3 has been started with an overpass on Ring Road 2 ( Vo Chi Cong Street) and the right branch of Ky Ha 3 Bridge.
Ho Chi Minh City aims to complete the entire My Thuy intersection project by April 30 next year, with the condition that the site clearance work in Thu Duc City must be completed in April this year.

According to Vice Chairman of Thu Duc City People's Committee Mai Huu Quyet, the total land area to be reclaimed for the project is 166,277 m2, of which more than 112,644 m2 is traffic land and canals. The project affects 195 households.
To date, Thu Duc City has approved compensation and resettlement support plans for 182 cases, of which 169 households have received money with a total of more than 1.2 billion VND.
Currently, the site of 123 records has been handed over, reaching 63.1% of the total area to be recovered.
However, there are still 72 records that have not been handed over the site, accounting for nearly 37% of the total amount to be cleared. The main causes are land disputes, border overlaps, complaints, administrative litigations or waiting for resettlement land arrangement.

Mr. Mai Huu Quyet said that Thu Duc City is focusing on solving these problems and aiming to complete compensation and site clearance in the second quarter of this year to ensure the overall progress of the project.
Previously, My Thuy intersection was the intersection between Nguyen Thi Dinh Street - the main axis in and out of Cat Lai Port and Ring Road 2 ( Vo Chi Cong Street).
This is an area with a very large volume of freight vehicles, while the transportation system is only organized in a uniform manner, leading to frequent traffic congestion and accidents.

In order to solve this problem, in 2016, the My Thuy intersection project with a scale of 4 floors was approved by the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council for investment.
After 9 years of implementation, many items have been completed and put into operation, including: 4-lane overpass on Vo Chi Cong street across the intersection, left underpass from Vo Chi Cong street to Cat Lai, My Thuy 3 bridge, Ky Ha 3 bridge (left branch) and the underpass system.
These items have contributed to significantly improving the traffic situation in the area. However, the project still has some items under implementation and is facing difficulties due to the completion of site clearance.
