On March 12, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Nguyen Van Duoc inspected the construction site of Ring Road 3, the section passing through Thu Duc City and Binh Chanh District.
The section of Ring Road 3 through Ho Chi Minh City is more than 47 km long, with a total investment of about VND 41,387 billion, of which compensation and site clearance costs account for VND 18,975 billion.
The project through Ho Chi Minh City has 10 main construction packages, of which 4 packages will start construction from 2023, the remaining 6 packages will be implemented in 2024.

According to Mr. Luong Minh Phuc - Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board, up to now, the Ring Road 3 project through Ho Chi Minh City has reached 31.1% of the construction volume.
The road section through Thu Duc City is over 14km long, designed on high ground with 4 lanes in phase 1, expected to be technically open to traffic by the end of 2025. This route connects from the Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay Expressway, passes through Thu Duc City and ends at the Tan Van intersection (Binh Duong).
The remaining sections through Binh Chanh, Cu Chi, and Hoc Mon districts will be technically open to traffic on April 30, 2026.

Although the construction progress is being accelerated, the project is still facing obstacles due to land clearance problems in some areas.
The section through Thu Duc City still has 4 households that have not handed over the site, affecting the implementation of some overpasses. In Binh Chanh district, three locations have not been completely cleared, causing difficulties for construction.

Mr. Hoang Tung - Chairman of Thu Duc City People's Committee said that the locality has made efforts to persuade people to agree, but there are still some cases that have not agreed. If it cannot be resolved by agreement, the government will have to apply coercive administrative measures to complete site clearance in March 2025.

At the construction site, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Nguyen Van Duoc emphasized that the Ring Road 3 project passes through many localities, having a great impact on the transport infrastructure and economy of Ho Chi Minh City.
Mr. Nguyen Van Duoc highly appreciated the efforts of relevant units in site clearance and speeding up the project's progress.
Mr. Nguyen Van Duoc also said that the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee has committed to Deputy Prime Minister Mai Van Chinh and the Government on site clearance and progress of the Ring Road 3 project.
The entire Ring Road 3 project through Ho Chi Minh City must be completed and put into operation on June 30, 2026.
Therefore, the Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee requested Thu Duc City and related localities to clearly commit to the progress of site handover. "Units need to take responsibility and commit to Ho Chi Minh City and the people about the project progress" - Mr. Nguyen Van Duoc emphasized.
