On the afternoon of January 24, Hai Phong City Police said that, implementing the Plan to ensure traffic order and safety during the Lunar New Year 2025, on the afternoon of January 23, Quang Trung Traffic Police Station, Traffic Police Department (Hai Phong City Police) organized an inspection of the activities of a number of road transport business vehicles operating on National Highway 10.
During an inspection in Quang Trung Commune (An Lao District), Quang Trung Traffic Police Station discovered that a passenger car with license plate 27B-002.42 was carrying more passengers than allowed. The task force immediately signaled the vehicle to stop.
Through counting, the authorities determined that there were 42 people on the vehicle, 15 more than the vehicle's registration. The driver was Ngo Van K, 46 years old, residing in Yen My district (Hung Yen province), driving the car from Do Son bus station (Do Son district) to Dien Bien Phu city bus station (Dien Bien province).
Based on the violation, Quang Trung Traffic Police Station issued a ticket to the driver and vehicle owner with a total administrative fine of VND 112,500,000. In addition to the fine, the driver was also deducted 4 points, and the vehicle owner had his badge revoked for 2 months.
To ensure traffic safety and order during the Lunar New Year, the Traffic Police Department will increase patrol teams to control "throughout Tet", handling violations of drivers of transport vehicles as well as other types of vehicles on roads in Hai Phong city.
