On June 1st, Gia Lai Forest Protection Department (Department of Agriculture and Environment) of Gia Lai province said that from the beginning of 2026 to now, 105 violations of the Forestry Law have occurred in the province.
The main violations include deforestation, illegal forest exploitation, illegal trading, transportation and storage of forest products.
Notably, the situation of forest land encroachment is developing complicatedly in Ia Pia, Ia Puch, Ia Mo, Ia Lau, Dak So Mei and Phu My Tay communes.
These are all areas with large forest and forestry land areas, complex terrain, causing many difficulties for the patrol and control work of functional forces and local authorities.

According to the Chu Prong Regional Forest Protection Department, from the beginning of 2026 to now, the unit has coordinated with forest owners, People's Committees of communes and related forces to organize many patrols and sweeps, thereby detecting 23 violations in the field of forestry.
Among these, there are 8 cases of illegal deforestation, 2 cases of illegal forest exploitation, 8 cases of illegal transportation of forest products and 5 cases of forest product storage.
One of the major difficulties currently is that the area of forest to be managed is very large, while many areas are managed by the People's Committees of communes but have not been allocated or leased.
Typically, Ia Mo commune has a total forest area of more than 18,681 hectares, of which about 12,017 hectares have not been handed over or leased.
In addition, many forest areas located along the water canals of the Ia Mo irrigation project have favorable conditions for agricultural production. This is the reason why some subjects take advantage of and secretly destroy forests and encroach on forestry land for illegal cultivation.
