To celebrate the 80th Anniversary of the Traditional Day of the Vietnamese Judiciary (August 28, 1945 - August 28, 2025), the 6th Patriotic Emulation Congress of the Judiciary and the 100th Anniversary of the Vietnamese Revolutionary Press Day (June 21, 1925 - June 21, 2025), the Ministry of Justice officially launched the first National Press Award for the Judiciary.
This is a meaningful activity to affirm the important contributions of the judiciary in the cause of building and defending the Fatherland over the past 80 years.
This press award not only aims to honor the role of the judiciary but also focuses on reflecting important milestones in the work of building and perfecting institutions and laws, especially the implementation of the direction from Party and State leaders on innovation in law-making thinking. Resolution 27-NQ/TW dated November 9, 2022 on continuing to build and perfect the Socialist Republic of Vietnam's rule of law state is also a key content of the award.
This is an opportunity for press agencies and journalists to demonstrate their role in discovering and praising good models, good initiatives and advanced examples in the judicial sector. In particular, the entries will honor the merits and contributions of those working in the judicial and legal sector across the country, from central agencies to grassroots levels. Thereby, the press awards contribute to creating spiritual motivation, promoting creativity and responsibility throughout the sector, while spreading positive messages to the community.
In addition, the press award also aims to improve the quality of information, comprehensively reflecting the activities of the judicial sector, in order to create social consensus in performing the tasks of the sector.
Regarding the conditions and rules of participation, all Vietnamese citizens, including professional and non-professional journalists, can participate in the award, as long as they do not violate the provisions of the Press Law, the Intellectual Property Law and related legal documents. The entries must be in all press genres (except news and photos), and must be published in print or electronic newspapers from May 1, 2023 to May 30, 2025.
Each author or group of authors is allowed to submit a maximum of three works, with a maximum of seven members in a group. The deadline for submission is June 10, 2025 (for works sent by post, the deadline is calculated by postmark).
The announcement and award ceremony of the first National Press Award for the Judiciary Sector is scheduled to be held in August 2025, as a key activity to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the Judiciary Sector’s Tradition Day and the 6th Judiciary Sector’s Patriotic Emulation Congress. At the same time, the award ceremony is also a meaningful event in response to Vietnam Law Day (November 9, 2025).
