Launching the National Press Award "For National Security and Peaceful Life

Hanoi - On the afternoon of June 17, the Ministry of Public Security and the Vietnam Journalists Association organized the Launching Ceremony of the "For National Security and Peaceful Life" Press Award for the period 2026 - 2028.

This year's launching ceremony is a meaningful activity to celebrate the 101st anniversary of the Vietnamese Revolutionary Press Day (June 21, 1925 - June 21, 2026). At the same time, this is also an event towards a series of major anniversaries of the People's Public Security Forces.

The press award is held periodically every 2 years nationwide, chaired by the Ministry of Public Security, in coordination with the Vietnam Journalists Association. The standing unit of the award is the Department of Public Security Communications, Ministry of Public Security; Professional Affairs and Communications Committee, Vietnam Journalists Association.

According to the Organizing Committee, the Award aims to select and award high-quality journalistic works on propaganda of the activities of the People's Public Security Forces; on the role, position and important contributions of the People's Public Security Forces in the fight against crime, protecting national security, and maintaining social order and safety.

Through the Award, the Organizing Committee wishes to continue to consolidate the people's trust, promote the responsibility of the entire political system, the entire Party, the entire people, and the entire army for the task of protecting national security and maintaining social order and safety; creating an important bridge between the People's Public Security Forces and the people.

The award is for professional and amateur journalists, collaborators, and informants of press agencies who are Vietnamese citizens at home and abroad. Authors participating in the Award must not be under criminal prosecution; not violating the Press Law, the Law on Intellectual Property and other relevant legal regulations.

Each author or group of authors is allowed to submit a maximum of 3 works; especially the press photo category is allowed to submit a maximum of 5 works. Members of the Organizing Committee and the Judging Council are not allowed to register works to participate in the Award.

Works participating in the National Press Award "For National Security and Peaceful Life" must be expressed in Vietnamese; published and broadcast for the first time from August 19, 2025 to the end of March 31, 2028 on newspapers, radio stations, and digital platforms of the competent authority granting press operating licenses.

The types of press participating in the Award include: print newspapers, electronic newspapers, radio newspapers, television newspapers, press photos, digital press (multimedia press works published on the digital platform of press agencies).

Entries must ensure authenticity, objectivity, high social effectiveness and have never won the National Press Award. The Organizing Committee prioritizes creative works with a spreading power in the digital environment and does not consider fictional works.

The summary and award ceremony will be held on the occasion of the 103rd anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day (June 21, 1925 - June 21, 2028) and the 83rd anniversary of the Traditional Day of the People's Public Security Forces (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2028).

Prize structure:

Prize A: 50,000,000 VND

B prize: 30,000,000 VND

C prize: 20,000,000 VND

Consolation prize: 10,000,000 VND

Award for excellent press agency with the same ranking: 20,000,000 VND.

The structure includes: 06 A Prizes, 12 B Prizes, 19 C Prizes, 35 Consolation Prizes and a number of awards for press agencies, inter-associations, journalist associations and agencies and organizations at all levels and sectors actively participating, with many good works during the contest organization period. Depending on the actual situation, the prize structure may be changed. The change in the prize structure is considered and decided by the Steering Committee and the Organizing Committee of the Award.
