On February 24, the bomb and mine clearance team of PeaceTrees VietNam said that they had just coordinated with the Quang Tri Provincial Military Command to safely handle a MK82 bomb left over from the war, weighing more than 226kg, discovered in Tang Ky village, Kim Ngan commune, Quang Tri province.
Previously, during digging soil to make a yard, Ms. Ho Thi La discovered that the tail of the bomb was exposed, only about 40cm from the house foundation. Recognizing the dangerous object, the family immediately reported it to the local authorities.

After receiving information and requesting coordination from the Provincial Military Command, PeaceTrees VietNam quickly deployed specialized forces to the scene. The search force carried out manual digging for more than 2.5 hours to approach, check the explosive detection status and assess the safety level.
The MK82 bomb weighing more than 226kg was then safely moved to a centralized detonation site according to regulations, ensuring safety for families and surrounding residential areas.
